Flower Investigation

Hi guys. Today we have been investigating to predict what would happen to a flower without water. I am now going to write what i wrote about the questions that we were given.

1. What is unusual about the flower?
   The thing that is unusual about the flower is it hasn't got any water in it.

2. What would happen if we take off the wire?
   What would happen is the petals will fall out.

MY JOURNEY MOVING TO THE GREAT YEAR SIX

Hi today i will like to talk to you about me moving to year six. I will enjoy it and i will be happy to take most of the school- to the year six. It will be a great majority to do this and i will, work hard for the sats i will try.
It will also be a pleasure because when i move to year six i will of had the same teacher three times. I was really looking forward to another teacher. He is bso fun. but anyways it will be great.

At Mersey Vale in Y5 we are in the middle of a flower investigation. We had to predict what would of happened to the flower if we left it in a cup without water. Everyone wrote what they thought about the flower if we left it all day. The flower was called a Gerbera.

Dear Diary

I have an interesting life that I would like to share. It is interesting because I am not poor or rich.

AAA! I'm late for school again I should go bed more earlier. But school is boring they just teach you religious education. I dug some melons and told my mum to cut it. It was yummy. Oh I forgot the farmers and builders are teaching us today their skills. The rich people get more education.

I rode my plough to school its fun. When I went inside it was all dirty. I knew everything that they taught me.

I went home and played with my toys they were made out of clay.  I played with my pet monkey he is called monko. I have a bird in a cage and snakes and lizards. In the streets there are wild dogs. I have a pet dog he watches robbers and then jump on then.
I went on the roof and taught my dog hunting lessons. My dad taught me how to hunt. It was dinner time we had lamb it was yummy. I had a glass of milk to drink. Then i went to sleep.

Thats my diary I didn't like the school but the food was delicious.

We were doing comprehension about the indus valley its like a whole country in pakistan.

The three kinds of evidence are bones, seeds and skeletons.

Charles Masson was the first person to find clues about the Indus valley, he found mysteries brick mounds.

Two ways that historians find buried  things are   arial photos and underground scanners.

Mohenjo Daro is the biggest city in the Indus

Mohenjo Daro is not right on the river and its not on the river now because the rivers change.

Copper was made in the furnace found in the lost city of Harrapa.

There were 39 skeletons because invaders kill the 39 people, the other reason is that they couldn't travel.

In english we have been doing playscripts. I found and it very easy, after a persons name you put two dots, called  colons, and you don"t have to put any speech marks.

I posted one on the blog a month ago, I worked hard on it. 

It was about me losing my homework sheet, it fell out of my bag and it blew away, Mr Ellis had to give me a new one.

The people in it were me and Mr Ellis,  it was a conversation of homework. Mr Ellis took it really nicely he didnt shout at me.

I'm really impressed with thid pirce of work and I wouldn't write it any diffrent.

Sock investigation

At Mersey Vale in Year 5 we have been doing a investigation about socks. The investigation was which sock dried the fastest. We put the socks in various places such as:   outside in the sun, outside in the shade, inside out of the sun's heat, inside in a dark cuboard. Which sock do you think dried the fastest? We learnt about the water cycle. First water heats up then it evaporates into the atmosphere. Then if there is alot of water it forms a cloud. After that it starts to rain. Finally it forms into water that is called condensation.  :)

on wednesday tenth  of July we had our sports day it was really good we had loads of fun and races.we had a race where we had to throw the bean bag really far and whoever threw it the farthest won,we also had the egg and spoon race,a running race and another throwing event.we had loads of different teams wearing their colour shirt and if you won a race you would get a sticker that said first place second place or third place and then you would go in the finals and challenge the other teams in your class who won in their colour.

At Mersey Vale we had Sports Day. Every class took part except from Nursery because they are too young. It was on Wednesday 10th of July. Many activites took place such as sprinting, egg and spoon race (golf got replaced over egg), under arm beanbag throw, javelin throw and then the Adult race. The week before that we had sports week and we got into team colours. They were our heats on Sports Day. First we compeited againest our groups Then the first 2 people, who came first, went into the final of their year. We had medals which were bronze, silver and gold (they weren't real). They were for people who came 1st 2nd and 3rd in their entire class. Also stickers were given out to people who came 1st 2nd or 3rd in their colour heats.

On Wednesday 10th July 2013,our school held a sports day event.All parents and carers were welcome,to watch their child compete to get a medal. Parents and carers were also welcome to have a sprinting race!We had a egg and spoon race,sprinting race,bean bag throw,and a throwing event.

The visit to St Jhons

When we were at st jhons school the entrance was neat, tidy and very posh. After we were at the reception we walked to the classroom where we were supposed to be. I thought St Jhons was a bit little than I thought it was but it is big. The whole school is shaped as a doughnut. the inside part of the doughnut looking school is the playground. After we looked around we went in the class and played on a raspberry pi. We started at 4:00 and ended at 5:30.

Hello, today i am going to tell you things we have done in the past of our class in year five.

On saturday 6th july we had commmunity fun day and the things we done is went on a 75ft long bouncy castle and that was only aloud for older children year two pluss. Also we had another bouncy castle with a slide but that is only for the little children 2 years pluss. There was toys,food,drinks,lollies,face paints and hot drinks. Also there was a snake,pets at home,dodge ball and loads. Also there was a game we could play and you had to guess witch teacher is witch to match them when they were younger to how they look now.

Last week we had sports week and we played golf,dodge ball and bench ball.We were going to have a main sports day last wednesday but it was slippery so we are going to have to have it this wednesday.

On friday we did miny olympics with reception. My group did buzz ball I made the name up. You have to kick the ball as farest as you can but you can't toepeck it it means you can't use you toe. Many people did other activities. Their were many winners. I thing everyone liked it.

The book I was reading was"Shaman king" this book I realy enjoyed espcialy the part when Ryu broke the tomb stone of a samuri and this kid owned the samuri.

This book moved me In many ways and I definetly recomend this book as I choose this book to be one of my favourets after BLEACH shonan jump manga, DEATH NOTE shonan jump manga again and finally my favouret is "Hunter x Hunter".However I dont like the TV series of Shaman king because of the voices I might still watch the TV series but I much more prefer the book.

I recomend buying Death note, bleach and hunter x hunter (By alex)

Careers Week

This week is Careers Week at Mersey Vale we have had a loads of visitors and had some very intersting jobs.Iwant to be a teacher because The first day of careers week was fun we started with a visitor called Raesa. She's training to be a docter at manchester univercity.

We also had a lesson about what we do at univercity with a guest called Professor Fluffy. He first taught us about a day at univercity and how you nearls every day go to lectures very early morning. Then we learnt how we can budget our shopping items and pick either the the expesive yet more tasty stuff or the cheap yet not that tasty stuff.

 This week in our school there was a really exiting week named Careers week.We looked at all kinds of careers and jobs. I did not even know half of the jobs. It was SO good. Monday was fabulous because 8 or 9 people came togeather it was fun. We were able to talk to all the visitors in private and we were able to ask lots of questions.

This week we had duzzens of visitors. I think the best visitor was Aisha Mohammed. She is a highschool teacher and she is very pretty.

This week year5 we have been learning about other people's carees'(builders).
A person called Frank Noris came into school, her magestie's inspector , and told us about his life sory if you want to learn more about his career's then dont exit this file.
If you didn't leave then I say "good gender".
First of all I would like to say there are not many inspectors, by the way let me just say that Frank is not her magesty's inspector any more , he wanted to be a footballer but he was week (no offence) , wasn't a very smart child ( again no offence). And then as he grew up Frank was playing sports and one of his lungs burst so he left school for a year and then came back and then he met a realy nice history teacher , who persuaded him to work his hardest ,meanwhil his brother was very succesful,and then Frank became a banker. And then went back to school did some exams and her magesty elected him to work at ofsted.

This weak at Mersey vale has been one of the most best week i have ever had in my hole life even the other merseyvale boys and girls must of had the most best career week ever.Well you might be thinkingwhat is careers week well careers week means your life some people think that careers mean someones life job but if you cheak some wesites then it should tell you. Lots of people came to school and some where nurses and some people where training to be a doctor and they said it takes five years but then you start and you still train a bit so about five years and that is a long time to become a doctor.

Today in careers week there have been LOTS of visitors who told us what sort of careers they've had. We asked them LOTS of questions of which they gave answers and expainations to. Even the old mayors wife came to tell us all about her job. She told us being a mayoress is not her only job!

Today we had a software deloper her name was Jemma i thought she was quite intresting to listen to and learn about her i think i want to do that job when im older because i like working on computers.

We had Beth and Kerry beth was an enggering and kerry was a drawing so beth can copy it and she can do what she needs to do and also its faster because its she could put it on the floor and it cam blow away so if beth needs it she can ask kerry and kerry can show it her instead of being ruined.

In carees' week we have been learning about carees', university and about things we need to qualify different jobs. We had loads of visitors and they told us about their job and career. We learnt in university that it's not always about work..work..work you also have some fun and you don't have one year in university always.

Some people have to be in university for five years also you can go to university at any age. We met people that were training to be doctors. We  also met softwhere developers and even Frank Norris. He used to be a Queen's inspector even though he was ill for a year also there are only two-hundered of them.

my favourite book is the werepuppy by Jacqueline Wilson.Its about a boy calle Micky who watches a film with his four annoying sisters when his mum and dad have gone out.the film is about some werewolves.After they watched the movie Micky had to go upstairs and sleep but Micky was really scared.In school Micky had to paint a moon while he was painting it he was trembling with fear and drew a werewolve.When the teacher got picked all of the paintings up she said that he had to draw it again.When everybody had left Micky's teacher said that micky yuo can do this work at home.As Micky was going out of the room he asked his teacher if werewolves are real.His teacher said no they aren't real.When Micky got back in the car his mum said that it was his turn to choose a pet ,a dog find out what happens next by reading the.book

This story is about a girl who couldnt have a kid but one day a spirit came and told her put palm oil out side. In the morning you will have a child but there was just one thing she was not aloud to go out side or she will melt. Her parents made a maze for her in her room. One day her parents had to go to work so the let the girl stay alone in the house they said ' do not go out ' they whent out then she saw two girls playing out side  the girl that was playing out side and said ' do you want to come out side' 'no its fine ' she said are you sure ' ' ok i will come out but just for a bit' she was play  she said 'it was fun' but sudenly her foot wouldnt come of the ground a few minutes later she was melted her parents came home and said ' oh no she melted'.

So he wanted to go outside but they didn't let him so they did not bother to say anything.

I think this is a very good book and I would recomend this book to someone.

In nearby street there was a chocolate factory. The choclate factory owener, Mr Willy Wonker had sent out six gloden tickets  in his chocolate bar 'Nutty Meg'. It was Charlie's birthday and gradand Joe had got him Mr Willy Wonker's chocolate bar as a birthday present.

My book is called Horrid Henry's Perfect Day. The book is about a boy called Henry but hes horrid and thats why they call him Horrid Henry. Horrid Henry has a little brother called Peeter. But hes the opposite of Horrid Henry Peeter is a good boy and they call him Perfect Peeter. Ond day they go in the car and they go to the fair but there mum sed that only peeter can go because hes been a good boy but henry cant go. So henry has to be good to his little brother but peeter doesent know that henry will be good to him. So henrbees good to his mum and dad and his little brother. When Peeter finds out that Henry bees good to him Peeter doesent want him to be good to any one. He just wants to get him in trouble. But Henry gets to go to the fair at the end.

my favourite book and what i am reading

The title of this book is Horrid Henry and the secret club. the author of my book is Fransesca Simon. It is about 2 boys called Henry and Peter. The people in Henry's class also went to the doctors and had an injection and he was waiting. He was scared. He was frightened. He called everybody a crybaby and a doody head. When he said that everybody felt little and upset. The good part was when he had the injection. Do you know what? I think nothing could be better because it was funny when he had the injection then he knew what happened to his class mates. This is the book that is my favourite and i am reading.

This week is peforming arts week. It is very fun so far. Well first we did Mersey Vale Got Talent. You may be thinking what is mersey vale got talent it is a show where people show their talent, I auditioned aswell me and my five other friends are going to do it.We are going to dance.

This week is performing arts week!!!So far it has been amazing.We have entered Mersey Vale got talent and we luckily got into the finals!!!We have also listened to a orchestra from Priestnall High School.We had a music teacher come in and teach us songs ,somebody came  in and taught us samba it was really fun.We had a contest with all the other classes they were all equally good.The teachers were smiley.:)
