our topic is PLANTS AND FLOWERS and we have been learning about germination and other things to do with that, also in the comments area type why i have learned complicated high school stuff already like PH levels.

This week we have been learning about plants.We dissected some Lilly's it was very fascinating but we were not allowed to touch the pollen otherwise we would get stained.We have also been listening to Thomas Kempe it is very interesting how the ghost plays tricks on the sister and the boy gets blamed.

Global Citizenship week

This week our class was working on Thailand. On Wednesday we made some power points about children in Thailand. We  learnt about how different we are from the children in Thailand and what their national sport. their sport is Thai boxing.

we also did chocolate making and about where it started.
it started in the Aztecs, it originally made as a drink. The ingredients were red chillies, water and cocoa nibs. The taste wasn't very nice,
it was called xocolatl and you don`t pronounce the x.

Global citizenship week

This week is Global citizenship week. We had to think about stuff being not fair around the world. But we had to think of one country in pacticular and it was Thailand.  Before we learned about global citizens and we made posters about the whatglobal citzens do. We learned about thailand there were poor and rich the poor had to work in a swet shop or be a Thia boxer.

On Monday the 15th of April we had  to write a sentence an to do with Global Citizen me and my partner wrote that, that dont think your any better than someone else because your richer and can afford something they cant.On Tuesday we made different types of posters for examply hadeybode self-intrest, evreybody had to write on these postors.On Wednsday we made leaflets wrote for our buddies in reception.

Yestardy year 5 was learing about malaria  and when mosquitoes sting you with it's long mouth then injects the malaria inside your body and mospuitoes like hot and cold places mospuitoes in Egland don't haave malaria. by Alex

Malaria is poisiness for kids in thailand. they go hot and then cold then die. So far many kids have died.
Malaria is very poisness,dangerous and scary.
They come from moscitous and i will show you a picture now.
Moscitous are very scary and fast,they also make your skin infected very bad.
beware of them when you go thailand or wherever they can be.

Global Citizenship week

This week back from the holidays has been the most exciting week of all, it was Global Citizenship week. Every class has a country that they were learning about, we were learning about Thailand. As well as that we learnt about malaria a deadly and fast spreading disease. Did you know that Thai-boxing is the most popular sport in Thailand like football is in England. We did more than this as well on Wednesday a man came from a choclate company and he knew everything about chocolates, he told us lots about chocolate and we got to make chocolate. And we made posters about Global Citizenship week and here are some photos.

Some of the children don't like to boxing because they get injured. Now we will tell you about how to be a Global Citizen firstly we made some posters and then we putted on the board.

Thai Boxing

This week we have been learning about Thailand in global citizenship week. In this wonderful week  we have found out that Thai Boxing is the National Sport for Thai people. Mr.Ellis showed us a video of Thai children Thai Boxing with each other. They lived in outragous conditions, as they had to live away from their parents so they could earn money. As they got injured in the ring adults had a bet on who would win. If they won a match they would get $6,000 but if they lost they won $4,000 they had to give $3,000 to their trainer and send the rest back home.

mosquitos

mosquitos are deadly when they have malaria, they can spread it easily and it injects malaria into its blood, malaria dosnt have any effect on mosquitos, they like areas like rice paddies.

At school we are having global citizens week.
in this week each class is thinking about a country that is a developing country.
our class are working on the country Thailand
we have went on the internet and have found out lots of facts
about how people in Thailand live and if there are any similar things that we do and also the people in Thailand do.
We also have made powerpoints about different things children at Thailand do. We still have lots of different activities that we are going to do

Global Citizens Week

This week in the whole of  Mersey Vale it is Global Citizens week!
Each class has a different country and ours was Thailand. First we started of with making posters about some of the key words to do with Global Citizens. We were learning about how children's lives are and  we compared them with ours. We have also made leaflets to show how a Global Citizen works and we have to share our facts in a simple way so that Reception kids will understand. It has actually been very exciting learning about Thailand and we can't wait to do more!
