The buried newspaper,books & carrot!!!

Today we took out objects and excavated them!!!
We buried some things in wet sand, dry sand,dry soil and wet soil.
In the wet sand the newspaper was very heavy.
The carrot needed the water in the soil.
When I picked the newspaper it was very dirty.
In dry sand the book was very hard.
In wet sand the book was very heavy.
It was lots of fun!

Today and yesterday we

were excavating some things

 e.g carrots, apples, newspapers, books

and much more.

I am going to tell you about what happened

to the newspapers and books in

dry soil ,wet soil, wet sand and also the wet soil.

In the wet sand the newspaper was very

sandy and it was very soggy too.

Somebody picked out the newspaper and they

said it was very heavy to.

Actually, I thought it was  going to rip!

The wet soil made the  book soak through.

When somebody held

it, it flung open and all the soil fell out.

It was very heavy too.

Also,when I opened it it ripped apart!

Educational Excavating

We buried objects in November and then we excavated the objects and we found a carrot with a shoot growing out of the top of it.

We buried some other things and we really enjoyed excavating the items so i called it Educational Excavating.

Excavating fruit toys books newspaper.

Well year five today we were excavating things that we buried 7 to 6 weeks ago.
And some things like carrots apple books and newspapers.
The sand was the first one to take out from and I took out an apple from the tray and it was amazing put when I touched the apple inside and it looked nothing like an apple you will buy from the groceries. And when we got up to the the wet sand we had to were gloves that doctors would were.
And I couldn't get something out of the wet sand because I had 2 turns.

The apple that decomposed

In November class 5 buried some items because we were learning about the Indus Valley civilisation and we decided to bury some things to see what would happen to them and you wouldn't believe it! The apple rotted away!
Here are some of the items we buried:

The decomposing carrot

We decompose 4 carrots.

One carrot had some little roots.

One carrot had big roots and it was fat.

One carrot was so little.

One carrot had quite big roots.

Excavating

Today  we were excavating and we all had turns. We actually put some stuff in a tray with soil and kept it for about a week.

we buried  decommposted fruits  and other stuff and some weeks later we discoverd them.so it mite make you laugh.but there was a roten apple and it look like a dogs dirty bissness.so there was some magnifisent stuff. so bye.

We Have Done Some Excated.

Today at Year 5 we excavated some stuff. We were investigating were to see what will happen . We put them outside for a about a month. We put in the trays soil ,wet soil,sand,wet sand. We buried clay, small toy, plastic spoon, metal spoon, carrot and a apple. I excavted a apple it was realy squishy and disgusting.

Seven weeks ago year five buried some items in soil and sand in a tray. The items are as follows,a metal spoon,fork, plastic spoon,plastic toy,clay,book,newspaper,apple and a carrot.Today we excavated the various items.When we found the carrot we discovered that the carrot had decomposed.

today me leon i seen some very rottern stuff.so once we buried some stuff from mr ellis.and  some weeks later we discovered them again.and some of the stuff was decommposted stuff.and it was very discusting. so bye!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

All the things in the soil and sand.

The wet soil was really hard to excavate and we found the carrot inside the carrot had grown roots. The carrot had absorbed the water in the container when it was outside. the dry soil had the apple in and many things but the apple was rotten inside the container which was stored inside. The wet sand had a plastic spoon in and it had gone much softer. The dry sand had an apple inside and a spoon the spoon was still the same but the apple was actually coming apart. That’s what amazing things we found. Here are some pictures.

Hello everyone.  Today I have seen an amazing thing! Well its not that amazing but it is a bit amazing. Today I have picked something out of the sand that we put into a tray . I picked a wonderful Apple out. It wasnt that wonderful because it had decomposed and I accidently put my finger in it and I got scared because it was something very DISGUSTING. I made everyone laugh! The next day I picked a toy out and it was not digusting in fact it was the same as before. Please see the photos that our class took bye from Saira

Yay it's nearly time to perform our Christmas production in front of the whole school and the Parents!
We have recorded our play and have watched it to see what we need to improve on. I am so exited because I know that everyone that watches it will love it. Oh and did I mention that I am Muncher (the greedy Dwarf)?

Christmas fair

Today at Mersey Vale was our christmas fair and I would like to tell you what I did. First of all I went to the candy stall and I bought two 10p mixes - they were all very nice. After that I went to the win a box competition and I won a box with loads of sweets inside.

There were lots of things to do and it was extremely fun.

 First I went to the lucky dip. I did not get a

turn because they had already packed away.

I was very disappointed too!!!

Chrismas fair

Hello. At Mersey Vale Primary we have a school fair. Our class are going to the Christmas fair at 10am. I brought five pounds. It's going to be the best Christmas fair. There's going to be all sorts in the fair.

It had lot's of cool stuff. I ran out of money and there was still lot's of good things but I ran out of money.

Decorate a box competition

On Thursday lots of people decorated a box

for the Christmas fair on Friday, and you

wouldn't believe it I won! We had

to decorate a box with Christmas things such

as: an angel, Santa, reindeer, snow-man, 

snow scene or anything you wanted to make,
but there had to be a gift inside the box!

I made a Christmas pudding and I won chocolates.

Today I am so excited

Yay! Today it is the Christmas fair!
We have lots of prizes and old toys - basically we have lots of gifts.
I have brought lots of money to school so I can get lots and lots of gifts. I am writing this just before the fair so I am full of excitement.
