The Mayor Is Here

Today in Mersey Vale there is a very special event. The mayor has came to officially open our newest part of school. It was very exciting. It was started by an assembly in the hall and it was amazing when the mayor walked in our school. We kept our eye on everything but for the younger ones it was hard but they still tried their best. We went outside to the new building and we watched the mayor cut the ribbon! We clapped and the parents moved out of the way. Some of the children could show the way to our new classrooms. Then we went out to play.
It was a very exciting day for all of Mersey Vale and the mayor.

School Council Elections

Yesterday afternoon in Year Five we were gripped by election fever as each of the class' candidates presented their speeches to try and persuade one another to part with their votes. It was fantastic to see so many of you stand up and confidently deliver speeches, and I was particularly impressed by those of you who had spent so much time over the weekend making posters and getting your powerpoint presentations ready. One of our children even made up a special song and dance to try and convince the voters of her talents... but will it be enough to gain her a place on the School Council? Watch this space to find out...

Greece

     On monday 26th september
we celebrated European day of
languages. Our class learned about
Greece. First we made a Greek flag
then we tried out some Greek salad
mmm...After that everyone had
to try at least four activities they
were: draw a wordsearch - you
had to use the white-board and
copy some of the greek words.
The second activity was to
write the salad recipie then
 you could decorate it. When
you had finished decorating you
could either make a quiz about
Greece or write your name in Greek.

I'll be back for more brilliant
news next week!

European Day Of Languages!

Hi
Yesterday it was European Day Of Languages and our class were doing about GREECE it was so interesting.
First we made a flag of Greece, the flag was blue and white.
After that we could write our name in Greek.
Mine was weird.
Also we made a Greek salad it was so tasty I had two plates.
Also we were allowed to make a wordsearch but we had to do Greek words.
But the most interesting bit came when we were alowwed to taste Greek food. We were allowed to taste pitta bread, houmous, tsatziki and olives.
It was such a FUN day

International day of languages

Yesterday at school  everybody was dressed up in different colors and then I realized it was international day of languages. I forgot my coloured clothes but then after assembly my mum dropped off the clothes. In the morning we got to choose what activity we wanted to do. We were doing Greece. First I chose to make the Greek flag and coulor it in. After that I decided to tell how to make the Greek salad. But then the teacher chose four people at a time to start making the Greek salad. Also after that I made a word search. That is what happened here at Mersey Vale yesterday.

european day of languages!!!

At school we celabrated european day
of languages on the 26th
 septemberwith our school.
We learnt about Greece.
All of us had to dress in blue and
white because it is the color of the
Greek flag.

First, we drew a flag of Greece
in blue and white. Next we wrote a
message in greek language or our name.
After that we had to write
out a Greek salad recipe which
I liked a lot. Then we made a word search
with all the different greek words.
Finally, we wrote a quiz and it was all about
looking on a map and finding
 questions to ask and write.

Thank you for reading my report!!!

European Day of Languages!

Hello everybody!
Yesterday it was European Day of Languages and our class did about Greece. First we all made a flag and then we could choose what we would like to do next because we had five things to do as a class, but we could do this in any order we liked. What I did first is the flag, but after I had done the flag I did some cooking. We were making a Greek SALAD! Some of us could not make half of the salad because we did not have enough ingredients for all of us to chop up but luckily I got to wash the lettuce and chop the tomatoes up.

Well that’s not all but I think I'm going to let the other people say the rest of the things we did!

Bye guys!

After our teacher explained to us about compound sentences,we wrote some in our literecy books.
aAfter that we did a little bit of maths. Today's subject was looking at shapes. The particular shape we were looking at was rectangles. What we had to do was draw a rectangle in our maths books using all the important stuff like using a ruler and making all our lines neat.

Thats all I have to say. Please keep on enjoying reading our blog. We will always have something nice to say. lots of love from Maheen Waheed.

mersey vale day

My day in Mersey Vale was great fun. As for Literacy it was so easy. We all did learning about compound sentences, and because we had practised already we knew what to do. But you would have to say maths would be the best! We had to describe the properties of a rectangle and we used different colours to make different rectangles. And last but certainly not least on our blog... our play time was even better because we were in the sun.

Second of king of blog

Today my group are going on the laptops. But today it is a Special because we have been on the laptops for the whole time. We were doing Maths and Literacy. In Literacy we have been writing notes about Micheal Morpurgo or Jacqueline Wilson. They are both authors who write books that we read. Today I chose Micheal and I wrote notes about him. The thing I found special was that Micheal wrote over a hundred books. He is now sixty eight years old. In Maths we were learning about shapes,we were mostly learning about Triangles. We were talking about Isosceles,Equilaterals,Right angle and Scalene. We were writing facts about the shapes.

Second post

Today we did our maths and literacy on our new laptops. In Maths we made different kind of triangles for example we made equilateral, right angled, scalene and isosceles. As well as that in Literacy we had to write about authors Jacqueline Wilson or Michael Morpurgo, I chose to write about Michael. Michael wrote over 100 books and he is 68 years old.
